Reflection for week 3

During the first week trying to get into Stevens institute was a bit of a bind as the When we came to the campus we couldn't find Hayden hall, after a few minutes we did get there. Seeing the view of NY was amazing, no matter how many times I go to New York City the experience is all the same to me whenever I see the amazing view. Meeting everyone at first I started off quiet. We all started to speak to each other when we were all at the Habachi grill seeing the chiefs amazing cooking skills.of course knowing me I wasn't able to connect with everyone right on the first week because of my voice being very low for others to hear. However after a few mixups everyone turned out to be amazing to be around, I even made my own repretation that I normally do! (Side joke) Academics first class being probability and statistics was a little challenging to me due to the fact that I am not good at word problems and never know what formula to use when tackling those kinds of problems. Important leaderships for work

There are many reasons towards why leadership can be important in academic and career development. One trait I believe that is universal is responsibility. In order to thrive throughout live in GENERAL is being responsible. Things like being on time for events, getting work on time, planning ahead and making a flexible schedule. These factors are traits of being responsible and having this kind of trait can put you at an extreme advantage towards your career and life ahead of you. Another trait of being a leader is having control of your emotions. In your career or academic sometimes you'll be likely to be on a team, you'll have a lot of work to do and sometimes have a co worker that will  difficult to deal with. It's up to you to be able to deal with these type of situations and have control of your emotions and know when to put your foot down and when to take a step back, getting angry or getting upset when you don't have your way in situations can show signs of w

Skills of a leader

There are a verity of qualites and skills it takes to make an effective leader. For example I believe a leader must be bold. One must be ready to take risk of they are in a pinch or if need to be able take a gamble to be able to turn the tables in the situation. If not you'll never know where you can get in life. Another trait is being able to learn and improve. I happen to take this trait very seriously. I believe that in order to be able to develop your own character you must be able to open minded and accept criticism which can be used to improve your faults or flaws. How will you be able to develop yourself if you are close minded and shut your mind from being able to learn from your mistakes to make sure they don't occur as often or at all?  I believe that's accepting and learning from your failures is the quickest ways to improve, as in being able to Analyze from your shortcomings and letting it mold you into a better being. There are plenty of times I would mess

Reflection of 2nd week

During the second week, I realized that it went by a lot faster than the first week in my opinion. The first week It appeared slower because In was still getting used to everything and the new schedule I have and surroundings. So far I really enjoy leadership class because I really enjoy learning new things about myself and using my weaknesses to improve on myself overall. For example, I learned that I am a tactile learner, I learned new skills and concepts to incorporate with myself. For probability and statistics, I feel as if I'm having a problem retaining the memory for that class. For precalc it's a little hard to understand everything, however, I've been using a site called khan academy and I must say it definitely is helping me. Lastly for career prep, in my opinion, is the most overwhelming because personally thinking of my future job and thinking what beholds in my future gets me a bit nervous as I'm still thinking about what I want as my major. As for my soc

My career plans

I dream of being able to work from home. Mainly because I love to travel. I wouldn't mind bringing my work along with me as I travel. I always had an interest in technology and electronics. I know the basics of how to build a computer, the ins and outs, how it functions etc. I thought about computer science but I learned about ITI and so far I have my mind set on that major. At the moment I am in liberal arts for community college learning about graphic design. After that, I would want to do something for ITI. As it has many diversities I have my might set on something as a web designer or a video game designer. At the moment I use my free time to learn to code, however, once I get into a university, Mainly Rutgers New Brunswick, I would like to get an internship. By the time it did college I want to go into the peace core for two years then start my free job.

reflection on the first week

On my way down to Stevens institute of technology I was curious what was in store for me. I went into Hayden hall and saw my name and on the door, and no one way there! I have the room all to myself. In my head my thoughts were "oh my goodness I never felt so free before" as being in a dorm is an entirely new experience for me. Honestly already I'm in love with it. I started making friends on the very first day and already it's like we've known each other forever. I was excited when I found out I'm going into pre calc after taking my placement test. It's a little overwhelming but I feel like I will start to pick up the pace after awhile. Getting to know the area around Stevens institute you can clearly see it has so much to offer, you can see manhattan and the riverside from my own dorm, there are restaurants and chill out spots all over, and just so many views in just a small area of the campus. It's only been few days so far, but at the moment it&

Academic strengths and weaknesses

I have high expectations for this course around this time. However that doesn't come without its challenges. Knowing your strengths and weaknesses can really come in handy when effectively learning new information. For instance, for my weaknesses. Unfortunately I have a very slow learning curve. Where others can learn something in 10mins, it  would take me at the very least 30mins or even an entire day to understand a concept. Not the best when learning something new which is why I need someone who is patient to help me with my progression. Another weakness is my ADHD. I get distracted very easily, especially in quiet environments where there isn't much going on. I normally listen to music to help with this, although depending on the situation I can't always do that. However I do have a lot of strengths. For example I am very determined to learn, you know what they say "you only get out the most of what you invest your time into.  As long as I'm willing to put i
